DOCS system
The DOCS system is the first module of the Profitable Passion Program. It is a strategy session of half a day or a whole day to give you direction and inspire you what’s possible. Without direction you have no idea whether or not you’re doing the right thing. Do you remember this chat from Alice in wonderland?
"Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here? The Cheshire Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to. Alice: I don't much care where. The Cheshire Cat: Then it doesn't much matter which way you go."
When asking for directions, the answers of the Cheshire Cat make perfect sense. If you don’t know where you’re going, any direction is okay. Yet I see this a lot in businesses as well. A lot of entrepreneurs are just winging it. There is no greater picture, there is no vision and without it, how do you truly know you’re getting somewhere?
That’s why the DOCS system is such a perfect place to start. A lot of businesses are playing it small and entrepreneurs are doing themselves short. I can actually prove that you’re limiting yourself without realizing it with a very simple three parts experiment with an over 99,9% success rate.
What is the DOCS system
The DOCS system offers you the ingredients of the strategy session that will give you a starting point for your business. DOCS is an acronym and stands for:
Direction
The D in the DOCS system stands for Direction. Like discussed above, without direction, you’re not getting anywhere. The strategy session is meant to give you direction, or at least a possible direction. And it will validate if your current direction is the only one to go. What you don’t want, is that your current direction happens to be a dead end street, right?
Overview
The O in the DOCS system stands for Overview. When you’re running your business full time, you tend to spend most time working in your business instead of on your business. It’s good to take some time to paint the bigger picture. Where do you stand now, what’s your vision, what are your current goals. By looking at your business from a distance, you probably get new insights, or see things you didn’t notice before. This is a very valuable part of the strategy session.
Clarity
The C in the DOCS system stands for Clarity. This is the part where you will gain clarity about your business, where you stand, what might need improvement and how to move forward. It will help you focus. Without clarity, running your business can feel like running around in circles. Clarity will help you break out of this (vicious) circle.
Strategy
The S in the DOCS system stands for Strategy. When you have your direction, you also need a strategy to move forward. Because, even when you’re on the right track, if you don’t move, you will get run over.
