How We Can Optimize Our Mental, Physical, Emotional, & Spiritual Wellbeing

 

As part of their series “Health: How We Can Optimize Our Mental, Physical, Emotional & Spiritual Wellbeing”, Authority Magazine asked me to participate. Since everything is interconnected, you need to align all parts to become your best self. In the interview I shared several tips how to improve your wellbeing in mentioned areas. Below you will find the short, summarized tips per area. In the actual interview, I will go deeper.

Mental Wellbeing

The following three habits definitely helped my with my mental wellbeing:

  1. Don’t use the snooze button 
  2. Keep a journal
  3. Set a high goal and enjoy the journey

 

Physical Wellbeing

For you physical wellbeing, the following three habits will definitely make a difference:

  1. Listen to your body
  2. Sleep
  3. Move

Emotional Wellbeing

Dealing with emotions can be a struggle, but it doesn’t need to be. It is where our animal brain takes over our human brain. So processing your emotions is very important in order to get to your human brain part again. The following tips will help for sure with your emotional wellbeing:

  1. Express yourself
  2. Release bottled up emotions
  3. Decide consciously

Spiritual Wellbeing

Whether you believe in spirituality or not, taking into account your spritual wellbeing is important as well. I’m a left-brained person with a technical background, and yes, I believe in spirituality. Why? We take for granted that our laptop connects via Wifi, that we can use our wireless phones, that we hear each other when we speak. All those things we take for granted include waves, signals traveling through the air, yet we cannot see it. Why deny other signals traveling through the air that some of us can tune into? When you can’t understand something, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I believe things happen for a reason and you might as well do your best to influence that reason positively. the following tips will help you with that:

  1. Treat others how you would like to be treated yourself
  2. Do good
  3. Always do your best
